Its 70th Reunion

The Jamestown High School Class of 1948 is meeting to plan its 70th class reunion. Addresses for the follow graduates of the ’48 class are needed: Nancy Johnson Annis, Elizabeth M. Carlson, Patricia Johnson Clifford, Salley Peterson Fager, Shirley Sierk Haupton, Sheldon R. Holt, Nancy Wasser Lathrop, Donald Lyons, Marilyn Johnson Mathison, Joan Pachett, Phyllis Hall Paddock and Patricia Breneman Pierce. Anyone with information is asked to call 487-1367.

JHS Class Of ’98 To Host Events

Jamestown High School Class of 1998 will be hosting two events to celebrate their 20 year reunion. A casual gathering on Friday, June 29, with a fixed cost of $10 will be celebrated locally. The money can paid at the door. Former teachers and school staff are encourage to join for the Friday night mixer. On Saturday, June 30, a buffet dinner with an open bar, and DJ will take place at Moonbrook with an earlybird cost of $50 per person, if paid in full. Moonbrook dinner payments received after deadline will be $60 and must be received by Friday, June 22. Clymer Board

To Meet Monday

CLYMER — The Clymer Central School Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the high school library for a budget work session and monthly meeting.

Reunion Banquet Planned June 16

The Panama Central School 2018 Alumni Reunion Banquet will be held Saturday, June 16, at the Panama Diner. Registration is at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. The cost is $18 per person, and reservations and payment must be received ASAP. Anyone with questions is asked to call Roe Anne Faulkner at 782-3060.

YWCA Names Award Winner

The YWCA of Jamestown has named its 2018 Woman of Achievement award winners.This year’s winners are Breeanne Agett for Health/Wellness/Fitness; Kyla Rodriguez for Outstanding Entrepreneur; Brenda Salemme for Mentorship/Education/Training; and Emily Reynolds for Leader of the Future. These women will be recognized at an honorary dinner on Tuesday, June 19, at 5:30 p.m. at Moonbrook Country Club. Tickets for this year’s dinner are available through Tuesday. Flag Ceremony In City Thursday

The United Veterans Council of Jamestown and Lake View Cemetery will hold a flag retirement ceremony at 6 p.m. on Flag Day, Thursday, at Veteran’s Grove, located north of Marvin Parkway at Lake View Cemetery. All veterans, community members, scout troops, or other organizations are welcome to attend. The event will consist of a flag burning ceremony, a 21-gun salute, the playing of taps and the burial of the ashes to conclude. United Veteran’s Council officials said they want to use this event as an educational opportunity to demonstrate the proper display of the American flag and when and how to properly retire a flag. Those with flags that need to be retired can drop them off at the Lake View Cemetery office, 907 Lakeview Ave., or bring them on Thursday. For more information, call 450-6768 or 665-3206.
