JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - A Jamestown man is facing charges after allegedly leaving his child unattended on Monday. Jatwon D. Scott, 28, is facing a charge of endangering the welfare of a child after police officers respond to Prather Avenue for a report of a lost child at 1:52 p.m. Upon arrival, officers located a four-year old child who had reportedly been wandering the street and could not tell officers his name or address. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY COURT Todd Dalton, 39, of Jamestown, was sentenced Monday by Judge David Foley to four years in state prison with two years of post-release supervision after being convicted of fourth-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony. In March 2023, the Jamestown Police Department conducted a traffic stop and located suspected methamphetamine on Dalton. He pleaded guilty to the charge in January. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — HANOVER — At around 6:49 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to a report of an altercation between two people at a residence on Allegany Road. After a brief investigation it was determined that Tanner Moquin, 28, of Silver Creek, did subject another individual to physical contact, damage property in the residence, and tamper with property of another person. Jamestown Woman Charged in Taking Drugs To Jail -- In a concerted effort to curb the influx of illegal substances into the Chautauqua County Jail, Corrections Officers apprehended an individual suspected of smuggling drugs. On Friday, Tammra Topliffe, 41, of Jamestown was intercepted by vigilant officers during routine security at inmate visitation. Acting on a tip, officers kept surveillance on Topliffe while in visitation and were able to observe her passing a cache of narcotics to Preston Lawrence, 30, an inmate in Chautauqua County Jail. ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT — Patrick R. Damore, 62, no address listed, was charged with petit larceny. Police were called Feb. 22 to Wegman for a reported shoplifting and found that Damore passed all points of sale without paying for items. Damore is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court later. — Ryan J. Richter, 29, no address listed, was charged with driving while intoxicated. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT — Shamori L. Houston, 44, and May Stilson, 46, were each charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers stopped a vehicle at 10:10 p.m. Monday in the area of Newtown Avenue and Kipp Street for observed traffic infractions. Officers reportedly observed drug paraphernalia in plain view and a search turned up a quantity of fentanyl. Furthermore, officers determined that the vehicle had a forged North Carolina plate.
