Jamestown Flag Football Defeats Williamsville North 26-19

WILLIAMSVILLE — Jamestown raised its Section VI flag football record to 6-2 Tuesday night with a 26-19 victory over Williamsville North.

To suggest it was a team effort would be spot-on.

Ella Propheter led the way, rushing for 93 yards on 15 carries and a one-point conversion, completing 15 of 19 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns, returning a punt 61 yards for another TD and pulling a team-high eight flags.

But the senior standout had help.

Kaylee Leeper rushed for 29 yards on seven carries and a touchdown, caught six passes for 67 yards and a TD and had four flag pulls; Kate Kathman had six receptions for 55 yards, collected three flag pulls and had a key interception; Abbie Bradow caught three passes for 31 yards, a TD and a one-point conversion; and Dainys Cruz had four flag pulls and two pass breakups.

As a defensive unit, the Red & Green held the Spartans on fourth down and goal from the 6 with just over a minute remaining and ran out the clock to raise its record to 6-2.

Jamestown is back in action at 7:30 p.m. Friday when it hosts Clarence on Senior Night at Strider Field.
