Carter Ray is seen with the New York State Triple Crown Award he claimed over the weekend. To win the award is a major achievement in the wrestling world. Carter began his quest a few months ago when he won the USA State Folkstyle Championships in Long Island. Then, last weekend, he competed at the USA State Championships in Binghamton for both Freestyle and Greco Roman. To win the triple crown, Carter captured the Freestyle state title at 10U 77 pounds on Saturday, and Greco Roman state title at 77 pounds on Sunday. The triple crown puts Carter in a select group of wrestlers, who have gone on to find great success in the sport.
