Trojans Advance To Today’s Quarters

ALLEGANY — The Southwestern offense exploded in its Section VI Class B1 prequarterfinal softball game against Medina, defeating the Mustangs 21-4 in five innings at Allegany-Limestone on Friday.

The eighth-seeded Trojans were led by Siri DuBois, going 2 for 4 with a double and five RBIs. McKenna Bogdanowicz went 2 for 3 and Heidi Swan-Leuze added a double.

Southwestern split in the circle with Maddie Burnett throwing three innings and striking out eight with two hits and four runs against. Arianna Silakowski finished the game and struck out six batters in her two innings of work.

No. 9 Medina (4-15) went with Samantha Hescke in the circle to take the loss.

Southwestern (6-11) will travel to No. 1 Fredonia (17-0) today at 11 a.m.
