Frewsburg Boys Dominate At Frostbite Relays

FRANKLINVILLE — Frewsburg’s boys dominated at the Frostbite Relays on Saturday.

The Bears won the 400-meter, 800-meter, 1,600-meter, 3,200-meter steeplechase and 800-meter sprint relays en route to 98.5 points and the boys title.

Jacob Constantino, Patrick Spencer, Vincent Sanfilippo and Landon Stormer won the 400-meter relay in 44.66 seconds; Constantino, Spencer, Zayne Cline and Stormer won the 800-meter relay in 1:33.68; Constantino, Juvenal Diaz-Cortes, Brendan Devereaux and Stormer won the 1,600-meter relay in 3:37.41; Cody Kent, Nathaniel Colley, Micah Barber and Xander Pitts won the 3,200-meter steeplechase relay in 9:05.88; and Sanfilippo, Spencer, Constantino and Stormer won the 800-meter sprint relay in 1:39.50 for Frewsburg. Sanfilippo reached 38 feet, 3 inches and Barber reached 36 feet, 4¢ inches as the two combined for the triple jump relay title.

Lancaster won the girls title with 66.33 points.

Randolph’s boys were second with 95 points.

Roan Kelly led the Cardinals with a first-place finish in the 1,600 meters with a time of 4:45.35. Randolph’s Carson Conley, Talon Rowland, Dempsey McDonald and Kelly won the distance medley relay in 10:38.36. The Cardinals’ Conley and Gavin Stearns both cleared 5 feet, 8 inches in the high jump to win that relay with a total of 11 feet, 4 inches. Jaiden Huntington threw the shot put 47 feet and Ryan Carpenter reached 41 feet, 1 inch as the two combined for the shot put relay crown at 88 feet, 1 inch, while Huntington hit 136 feet, 2 inches and Carpenter got to 115 feet, 6 inches as the two also combined for the discus relay title at 251 feet, 8 inches.

Falconer/Cassadaga Valley was the next local boys team with 32.5 points followed by eighth-place Franklinville/Ellicottville (21.5).

Jase Smith jumped 19 feet, 8 inches and Riley Houghwot reached 18 feet, 4 inches as the Golden Cougars pair combined for the long jump relay crown.

Franklinville/Ellicottville’s girls were fourth with 47.5 points followed by fifth-place Randolph (42.5), ninth-place Falconer/Cassadaga Valley (28) and 11th-place Frewsburg (24).

Abby Chudy, Audrey Hurlburt, Tyyetta Herman and Anna Slavinski ran the 1,600-meter relay in 4:21.24 to win that event for Franklinville/Ellicottville.

Corinne Inkley jumped 16 feet and Payton Morrison reached 15 feet, 3¢ inches as the Randolph pair combined for the long jump relay crown.
