JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPT. - Eric D. Gifford, 40, of Jamestown was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs at 12:51 a.m. Friday after city police officers responded to a business in the Foote Avenue Plaza for a report of a man slumped over the wheel of a vehicle in the parking lot. Gifford had allegedly been driving while impaired by drugs. He was charged and taken to the Jamestown Police Department, where he was held until he could be arraigned. - Michael S. Thwing, 44, of Jamestown, was charged May 20 with driving while ability impaired by drugs, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Connor A. Dale, 19, was charged May 20 with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and having active bench warrants. According to police, at about 1:30 a.m., officers responded to the northeast side for a report of a male attempting to enter vehicles. Officers located Dale, who was in the area, and matched the description that was provided. Officers, police said, were aware that Dale had active bench warrants through Jamestown City Court, and subsequently placed him into custody before taking him to Jamestown City Jail. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Andrew J. Cowan, 33, of Jamestown, was charged May 12 with driving while intoxicated. According to police, at about 11:39 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at Washington and 14th streets, for an observed traffic violation. During the investigation, police said, it was determined that the driver, Cowan, allegedly was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. A Warren man has been taken to the Warren County Prison on $500,000 bail after allegedly stabbing another person in the neck during a dispute early Tuesday morning. Nathan A. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT - Erika Guerrero, 30, of Stockton, was charged May 17 with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, speeding, failure to keep right, and failure to notify the state Department of Motor Vehicles of an address change. According to officials, at about 4:59 a.m., deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the town of Stockton.
