JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
– Donald W. Dean Jr., 27, of Jamestown, was charged May 17 with making a false punishable statement while Jodi L. Monroe, 47, of Jamestown, was charged May 17 with resisting arrest. According to police, at about 11:15 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disorderly person on Eagle Street. During the initial investigation, police said, a female victim made allegations that she had been choked by Dean, which correlated with the markings on her neck. Officers approached Dean, and advised him that he was under arrest. At that time, police said, Dean allegedly pulled his arms away from officers, and resisted arrest. During the struggle, Monroe allegedly grabbed an officer’s arm and pushed another officer, which interfered and prevented the officers from placing Dean into custody. Dean attempted to flee, but was placed into custody using trained control techniques, police said. Both were arraigned in Jamestown City Court and released.
– Askiaa K. Faison, 30, was charged June 5 with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, three counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, and second-degree obstructing governmental administration. According to police, at about 6:08 p.m., officers on a Gun Involved Violence Elimination Initiative (GIVE) detail, observed Faison walking in the downtown area. Faison had a parole warrant, and officers attempted to stop him. Faison, police said, refused to follow orders from officers, but was placed into custody shortly after. Police said he was found to be in alleged possession of 10.5 grams of methamphetamine as well as many types of drug paraphernalia. Faison was taken to Jamestown City Jail, and will be in city court later.
– Jay P. Campbell, 58, of Jamestown was charged June 8 with having an outstanding warrant, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. According to police, at about 12:56 p.m., officers were on patrol in the area of North Main and West Fifth streets when they observed Campbell, who had an active Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department warrant. Upon placing him into custody, police said, officers recovered an alleged quantity of fentanyl and methamphetamine on his person. He was taken to the city jail, and will be in city court later.
– William A. Gordon of Jamestown was charged June 6 with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. According to police, at about 11:59 p.m., officers were working a GIVE detail, and while on patrol, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at King and Kinney streets for observed traffic infractions. Gordon was identified as the vehicle’s operator, and through investigation, Gordon was found to be in alleged possession of a loaded handgun and a quantity of methamphetamine. Police said Gordon did not possess a New York State pistol permit, and was placed into custody without incident. He was taken to the city jail, and will be in city court later.
– Donner J. Vonritter, 58, of Jamestown, was charged June 4 with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI per se, and multiple traffic tickets. According to police, at about 10:32 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for observed traffic violations. Officers determined that Vonritter was the vehicle’s operator. During the investigation, officers determined that Vonritter was operating a motor vehicle while in an alleged intoxicated condition. He was placed into custody, and taken to the city jail. He will be in city court later.
– Jennifer M. Volpe, 42, of Jamestown was charged June 8 with two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief. According to police, at about 11:34 p.m., officers responded to a westside address for a domestic dispute in progress. Officers determined that during a verbal dispute, Volpe, prevented the victim from calling the police by allegedly taking a cell phone from the victim’s hand and throwing it. Volpe, police said, then caused damage to the victim’s Wi-Fi router by allegedly smashing it against the wall. Volpe was placed into custody, and taken to the city jail. She will be in city court later.
– Robert Overton Jr., 56, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree menacing, and second-degree harassment. According to police, at about 8:30 p.m., officers responded to a reported neighbor dispute on the north side. Upon investigation, it was discovered that Overton allegedly threatened and menaced the victim, police said, with what appeared to be a rifle. Overton was placed into custody, and taken to the city jail. He will be in city court later.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
– Brittany M. Keys was charged with petit larceny. According to police, at about 7:25 p.m., officers responded to Wal-Mart, 350 E. Fairmount Ave., for a reported shoplifting in progress. Keys allegedly passed all points of sale without paying for merchandise valued at $30.90 Keys was detained by Wal-Mart Asset Protection until officers arrived on scene. Keys was issued an appearance ticket, and released. She will be in Busti Town Court later.
