CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — Sarah J. Bell, 45, of Sheridan, was charged Wednesday with aggravated driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and no stopping/standing/parking on a public road. According to officials, at around 12:12 a.m., deputies responded to a call to check the wellbeing of a motorist in the town of Sheridan. Through investigation it was found that Bell allegedly had been operating her vehicle while intoxicated. Bell was arrested and taken to the Pomfret Substation where she was later released. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — STOCKTON — At 2:28 a.m. Sunday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office observed a traffic infraction. When initiating the stop, the vehicle fled the scene. The operator of the vehicle was later identified as Eric J. Johnson, 46, of Jamestown. Johnson was charged with DWI, DWI per se, third-degree unlawful fleeing of a police officer in a motor vehicle, failure to comply with a lawful order, reckless driving, speed over 55 mph zone, failure to stop at a stop sign, improper or unsafe turn without a signal and failure to keep right. JAMESTOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT - Jamestown firefighters extinguished a blaze on the second floor of a 208 Charles St. residence. Upon arrival around 12:43 a.m. Friday, crews observed fire in second floor windows with smoke venting from the eves and attic. Crews quickly extinguished the fire after locating the blaze. No occupants or victims were located by firefighters at the scene. Jamestown Police Department assisted with traffic control and Alstar stood by at the scene. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Darius J. Thomas, 23, was charged Jan. 6 with third-degree robbery, fourth-degree grand larceny, criminal obstruction of breathing, and third-degree criminal mischief. According to police, at about midnight, officers were dispatched to a Southside residence where Thomas had returned. Police said, earlier officers took a complaint from a victim that Thomas had allegedly committed multiple offenses.
