JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT — Devin M. Berg, 40, was charged May 1 with two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree assault, and criminal obstruction of breathing/blood flow. According to police, at about 9:47 a.m., officers responded to a westside address for a reported domestic incident. Following an investigation, it was determined that Berg allegedly choked and punched the victim. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT - Harry L. Clayton II, 63, of North Benton, Ohio, was charged April 24 with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, and backing unsafely. According to officials, at about 8:08 p.m., deputies responded to a business in the town of Ripley for a report of a property damage accident between two semi-trucks. While conducting an investigation, it was determined that Clayton, an operator of one of the semi-trucks, allegedly was intoxicated while operating his vehicle. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Kiara C. Slaughter, 25, of Jamestown, was charged April 26 with driving while intoxicated, and aggravated DWI per se. According to police, at about 1:53 a.m., officers were patrolling in the area of Fulton and East Sixth streets, and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for observed traffic infractions. Through investigation it was found that Slaughter allegedly was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated state. She was placed into custody without incident, and taken to Jamestown City Jail. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Taylor M. Crofoot, 22, of Jamestown was charged April 26 with driving while intoxicated, speeding, and no/insufficient tail lamps. According to police, at about 1:30 a.m., officers were on patrol in the downtown area, near Spring and Fourth streets, when they observed a vehicle with no tail lights on, traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers, police said, stopped the vehicle, and determined that the operator, Crofoot, allegedly was driving while intoxicated. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Kenneth D. Lamb III, 38, of Jamestown, and Taylor L. Lane, 25, of Jamestown were both charged April 22 with third-degree criminal trespass. According to police, at about 8:42 a.m., officers responded to a Northside address for a reported trespass complaint. Upon arrival, officers located Lamb, and Lane allegedly sleeping on the floor of a condemned apartment. Both were placed into custody without incident, and taken to Jamestown City Jail. According to police, officers responded to a shoplifting complaint where it is alleged Johnson took items owned by Crosby’s in Falconer.
