– STOCKTON — A woman is facing charges after leaving three animals abandoned at a location on Route 380. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department reported Thursday it received an animal complaint on July 2. Through an investigation it was determined that Katherine Gonzalez, 42, who deputies reported as homeless, did abandon a dog and two cats at a residence with no means of care. Gonzalez was charged with overdriving, torturing and injuring animals; failure to provide proper sustenance and abandonment of animals. She will be in town court later.
– PORTLAND – Ryan J. Evan, 44, of Portland was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child at 11:12 p.m. Wednesday after deputies responded to a reported altercation in Portland. Evans allegedly restrained another person while making unwanted physical contact, all in the presence of children. Evans was charged and taken to the county jail for centralized arraignment.
– Michael F. Doherty, 49, of Tonawanda was charged with operating without insurance, DWI and DWI per se at 6:16 p.m. Wednesday after deputies pulled a vehicle over for a traffic violation. Doherty was released to be in Cherry Creek Town Court later.
