FREWSBURG — The Myers Memorial Library recently hosted its second annual chalk contest with the theme “Once Upon A Time.”
Artists were as young as 5 but also included many teens and adults. Each artist was able to fill a square (or two) with a $5 donation to the library.
“It’s a wonderful cause and we love seeing what the artists create every year,” said a library staff member in a news release. “We were so thankful it didn’t rain and love seeing people walk by enjoying the art.”
The winner in the Best Adult Chalk Art category was Andrea Vullo with her Little Mouse Reading in a Mushroom House. The People’s Choice Award went to Melinda Sipple, who drew a very detailed piece of art with flowers, bees and caterpillars. The Best Teen Chalk Art went to Annika Roushey with the Blue Dragon Zym. And the Best Child Chalk Art went to Anna Whalen with her Flowers and Fairies.
The contest was sponsored by The Frewsburger Pizza Shop, which donated gift certificates to all the winners.
