Conservation Board To Meet
The Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Directors will meet at 11 a.m. today at the Bemus Point United Methodist Church, 4954 Bemus-Ellery Road. Library Christmas Open House Is Dec. 22
KENNEDY — The Kennedy Free Library will be hosting a Christmas open house from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 22. Children’s story times will be at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. Mr. Morton from SunDance Farms will have a hedgehog and a baby goat to enjoy from 1 to 3 p.m. Santa will be available from 4 to 6 p.m. Cookie decorating, craft stations, and STEM challenges will be available throughout the day. Refreshments will also be available. There is also a basket raffle for $2 per ticket.
N. Harmony Senior Citizens Cancel Meeting
STOW — North Harmony Senior Citizens’ usual monthly potluck dinner scheduled for Dec. 20 has been canceled due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases and resulting restrictions. Future information about the club will be made public as things progress.
Westfield GOP Seeking Village Candidates
WESTFIELD — The Westfield Republican Committee is seeking a candidate for Westfield village trustee for the upcoming election. The Westfield Republican Committee will be holding a caucus in January to nominate a candidate to appear on the Republican line of the ballot for the March 15 Westfield village election. Those interested in serving can leave a private message on the Westfield Republican Committees Facebook page and a member of the committee will contact the potential candidate or call 716-326-6550 and leave a message. Candidates must be a resident of the village of Westfield to serve on the Village Board.
Marvin House Offers Take-Out Meals Thursday
The Marvin Community House in Jamestown is offering take-out meals available for pick up between 3-4 p.m. Thursday that will include lentil soup, baked ham, au gratin potatoes, oven roasted cabbage and carrots, and cherry bars. Reservations can be made by sending an email to marvinhouse@netsync.net or calling 716-488-6206. Meals will be placed in the vehicle’s trunk upon arrival.
St. Luke’s Thrift Shop Open
St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets in Jamestown, is well stocked with Christmas items and warm clothing for everyone. New this week is a nice selection of high-end ladies purses. Shop for Christmas decorations, gifts and toys. The shop is open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Receiving is Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shop will be closed on Christmas Eve. Face masks are required. All proceeds benefit the local community.
