Thanking All Veterans

LEON — The town of Leon and the Leon Historical Society invite the community on Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. to thank all veterans at a Veteran’s Day Celebration at the Old 1836 Church. The community can also view the display of pictures, uniforms and the new signs commemorating soldiers from all the American wars. The town and historical society is hoping to find all veterans and to complete its display by sharing pictures of Leon veteran. The public is asked to come and experience an Old Fashion Christmas Church Service as it was in Victorian times.

AOC To Hike Anders Run

Members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike Anders Run in Irvine, Pa., on Sunday. Members should meet at 1:30 p.m. at Musante Street in Warren or 1:45 p.m. at the trail head on Dunns Eddy Road. The hike is moderate. The leader is Earl Ross; he can be reached for questions at (814) 706-1198.

Blood Drive In Mayville Tuesday

MAYVILLE — The Community Blood Bank will hold a blood drive from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church, Mayville. “You never know when you or someone else you know will need life-saving blood products,” says Erin Tighe, Community Blood Bank community relations specialist. “It’s the community’s responsibility to keep each other safe. Donating blood regularly can prevent blood shortages in times of need.” Community Blood Bank partners with hospitals in Northwest Pennsylvania and Western New York to provide blood for patients in need. Tea Party Speaker Oct. 26

The Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots announces Angela Bittinger as the featured speaker on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. at 1309 Norby Road. She will share her experience as a teacher in the public school system and the plight she is in over her stand for freedom. Other matters during the meeting will cover other ways in which freedom is being jeopardized over government responses to COVID by mask and vaccine mandates. There also will be an update over local legislation being considered and advanced along with amendments at the statewide ballot proposals on election day in November.

Legion Plans Show, Bake Sale

CASSSADAGA — Cassadaga Memorial Unit 1280 will hold its annual Vendor Show/Bake Sale on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 228 Maple Ave. Post home. Some of the participating vendors include: Pampered Chef; Tupperware; Color Street; Little Dipper Cup Co; Bomb Party; Nani’s Candles; Sassy Glass, Bowl Cozies; Thirty-One Gifts; Crochet Items and a Bake Sale. Randolph Society To Host Meeting

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Historical Society will have Tom Wade and Bud Zollinger as guest speakers on Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. in the Randolph Municipal Building. The program is open to the community.
