Ripley Road To Be Closed For Repairs

RIPLEY — Phillips Road over the CSX tracks in the town of Ripley will be closed due to crossing repairs from Sept. 14- 17.

Ethics Board To Meet Wednesday

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Ethics Board will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Room 149 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St. in Mayville. Current members of the board are John Hamels, Diane Hannum, John Marengo, David Rowe and Mary Kay Szwejbka. Individuals attending the meeting will be required to wear a face mask within the security screening area of the building and if they are not vaccinated for COVID-19.

Genealogical Club To Meet Sept. 15

CASSADAGA — The Chautauqua County Genealogical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Cassadaga American Legion on Maple Avenue in the village. President Gail Dash said the program will be conducted by several members on their latest research. Members are encouraged to attend, and new members are welcome. COVID-19 restrictions will be observed.

Health Board To Meet Thursday

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Board of Health’s previously announced in-person meeting has been changed to virtual. The board will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday by remote access at facebook.com/myhealthycounty/. The public may participate in privilege of the floor by emailing a statement prior to the meeting to raters@chqgov.com. Emailed statements will be read during the privilege of the floor.

Tree Of Life Food Process Resumes

The Tree of Life Food Cupboard, 825 Forest Ave., Jamestown, has returned to its regular food selection process. Hours of operation are Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those in need of food assistance need to bring ID for everyone in their household. Masks are required.

Library To Host Can Drive

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Farman Library, 760 Thornton Road, will have a returnable can drive on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the library. The library will accept clean returnable cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles. Funds will be used to support library programming.

Marvin House To Host Speaker

The Marvin House announced that Frank Besse, Jamestown Renaissance Corp.’s Urban Core director, will be the speaker at the Thursday, Sept. 23, membership luncheon. The program follows the noon luncheon. Contact the Marvin House for reservations at 488-6206 or marrvinhouse@netsync.net. The cost is $17 for members of the Marvin House and $20 for non-members.

Ripley BOE To Host Presentation

RIPLEY — Members of the Ripley Central School Board will be hosting a capital project presentation at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, in the cafeteria. A regular meeting of the school board will be held immediately after the presentation.
