AOC To Kayak Sugar Bay

On Sunday, members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will kayak at Sugar Bay on the Allegheny Reservoir. The group will meet at Musante Street at 1:30 p.m. The activity was cancelled last week. Earl Ross will be the leader and can be reached at 814-706-1198.

Ellington Bridge To Be Closed

ELLINGTON — The bridge on Waterboro Hill Road in the town of Ellington, between Bemus and Watkins roads, will be closed to all traffic effective Tuesday. The closure is for replacement of the culvert. A detour will be posted.

Ellicott To Hold Budget Workshop

The Ellicott Town Board will hold a budget workshop at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Monday, Sept. 13, in the town hall. The public is welcome to attend.

Rail Repairs To Start In Sheridan

SHERIDAN — Railroad crews will be making repairs to the Harrington Road railroad crossing located in the town of Sheridan. Harrington Road will be closed to all traffic at the railroad crossing beginning at about 8 a.m. Tuesday to about noon Friday, Sept. 10. A detour will not be posted. Motorists should plan on taking an alternate route.

Rabies Clinic Set For Thursday

FREWSBURG — The Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services Division of Public Health will hold a free rabies vaccination clinic from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Carroll Town Hall, 5 W. Main St., Frewsburg. Dr. Mary Fales will be the attending veterinarian. These clinics will be drive-in clinics and each animal must be pre-registered to receive a vaccination. Vaccinations will be provided free of charge to all dogs, cats and domesticated ferrets three months of age and older. Those attending must pre-register online at bit.ly/rabies–sept9. There are a limited number of spots available at the clinic, so pet owners should pre-register each animal online as soon as possible. Those who register but decide not to attend the event are asked to cancel their appointment so the spot is available for another pet by calling the Chautauqua County Department of Health at 753-4481. Walk-ins will not be accepted. Pet owners will stay in their vehicles with their pets. People must wear facemasks. Pet owners must bring previous rabies vaccination records for each animal receiving a shot to ensure proper and effective vaccination; clinic staff will confirm previous rabies vaccination records. All dogs must be on a leash (small dogs may be in a carrier). All cats must be in carriers. Animal handlers will transport animals from the vehicle to the veterinarian for vaccination.

Rod And Gun To Resume Meetings

LAKEWOOD — Members of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Auxiliary will resume all meetings In September. The board will meet on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The regular auxiliary meeting will be Monday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. Please notice the change of meeting day. The program for the evening will be presented by Elizabeth Margarito of The Salvation Army. All members are invited to attend. The hospitality committee will be greeters Mary Alonge and Jan De Voe; helpers Sharon Purdy and Nancy Rasmussen; and refreshments by Jan Moran and Sally Gregory.

Randolph BOE Meets Wednesday

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Central School Board will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the high school. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
