Mobile Blood Drive Is Set
The Community Blood Bank will hold a mobile blood drive in the Riverwalk Center parking lot on South Main Street from 8 am. to 1:30 p.m. Friday. “We have been saying how critical the blood supply is for months now,” said Kathy Hastings, mobile drive coordinator for the Community Blood Bank. “But it’s true. We are facing a critical need for all blood types, particularly Type O blood donors. This is a great way to give back to the community during this time of need.”
Reunions Are To Be Held Sunday
The 147th Blodgett and 134rd Pierce/Landas reunions will be held at noon Sunday at the at the Chautauqua County Firemen’s Picnic Grounds, 4641 Railroad Ave., Stockton. Those attending should bring a dish to pass and their own beverage. Family members are also asked to bring what they know about their personal genealogy (grand and great grand-parents, plus recent births, marriages and deaths) to compare and add to/change what are in the family genealogy. Family members are also asked to be ready to discuss plans for the 150th Blodgett reunion in 2024 and to bring addresses and email addresses for everyone in each family who is 18 years old and above who may not be attending the 2021 reunion. Amateur FM Association To Hold Meeting
The Chautauqua County Amateur FM Association is holding regular club business meetings at 7 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 200 Hunt Road, Jamestown, on the fourth Monday of each month with the exception of December. For more information, contact Ed Suleski at 716-782-3827.
JHS Class Of 1951 To Gather
The Jamestown High School Class of 1951 will gather for lunch at noon Wednesday, Aug. 11, at the Olive Garden Restaurant on Fairmount Avenue, Lakewood. All class members and interested persons are welcome to attend. No reservations are required.

Program To Be Held Aug. 12
The Small Business Development Center at Jamestown Community College’s next Women in Networking Chautauqua program will be held at noon Thursday, Aug. 12. While the event usually takes place in person, during the COVID-19 pandemic, women are meeting via zoom to exchange ideas, experiences and address challenging issues. The speaker will be Jackie Joy, a licensed clinical social worker, who will discuss self-care and resources for working women to use during the COVID pandemic. Joy is a licensed clinical social worker with a background in the hospitality industry. As a social worker she has worked with geriatric patients, chemical dependency, individuals and groups through Catholic Charities and now in private practice. She is trained in a variety of traditional and new cutting edge interventions.
