Lions Club Hosts Spaghetti Dinner

FREWSBURG — The Frewsburg Lions Club will host a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Frewsburg Fireman’s Building, 25 Hazzard St., Frewsburg. Joe Conti’s famous spaghetti and meatballs will be served. The money raised will fund a scholarship for area students to attend Diabetes Camp at Camp Onyahsa. Adult tickets are $10, children ages 5 to 10 are $ and children under 5 are free. Along with the dinner will be items for auction and a golf bag giveaway.

Turner Series Ends Tuesday

The 10th and final installment of the 2019 Turner Series regarding the welfare of Chautauqua Lake will be hosted Tuesday at the Turner Community Center at 4840 W. Lake Road in Chautauqua at 6:30 p.m. Bob Hopper will represent the Chautauqua Science Group for the evening’s lecture.

JPS Board Set To Meet April 23

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the board room, 197 Martin Road, Jamestown. Items on the agenda include Grayson Holt sharing his Optimist Club oratorical contest speech, Dylan Lydel performing on his euphonium, continued discussion of Civil Service Law Section 75 disciplinary action against a school district staff member and a planned executive session to discuss particular personnel and the superintendent’s evaluation. The public is welcome to attend.

Falconer Open House Wed.

FALCONER — The village of Falconer and Ingall’s Planning and Design will be holding an open house on Wednesday, May 1, from 5-7 p.m. at the Falconer Fire Hall. Ingall’s associates will be presenting their recommended plans of action for the village as they pertain to the Comprehensive Plan and revitalization. All village and area residents are welcome to hear about the proposed development strategies. This will be the last open house before the 2019 Comprehensive Plan is finalized. Intersection To Be Closed May 3

The intersection of Harding Avenue, McDaniel Avenue and Third Street will be closed to through traffic Friday, May 3, to facilitate work being done by the Board of Public Utilities, Electric Division. Motorists must use alternate routes of travel and use caution while driving near the construction area.

Myrtle Cemetery Board To Meet

KENNEDY — The annual meeting of the Myrtle Cemetery Association will be held on Monday, May 6, at 7 p.m. in the Clark’s Corners Community Church. All lot owners, board members and other interested parties are urged to attend. Election of officers and several director positions will be held.

Ellington UM To Host Bag Sale

ELLINGTON — Ellington United Methodist Church will host a rummage and bag sale at the church, 776 W. Main St., Ellington. Hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
