Hazeltine Library To Host Energy Efficiency

Workshop

Tuesday

BUSTI – The Hazeltine Public Library has added SanFilippo Solutions to its Energy Efficiency Workshop that will be held Tuesday. Workshop presenter Emily Edmunds McKenna is an energy sustainability educator from Cornell Cooperative Extension who will be talking about services and programs available to assist residents in making their homes more energy sustainable. The workshop will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Building of the Hazeltine Public Library. The library is located at 891 Busti Sugar Grove Road, and can be reached at 716-487-1281. Reservations are appreciated but not required.

Fenton History Center To Host Brown v. Board Discussion

“Brown v. Board of Education at 70” is the topic of a discussion at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Fenton History Center, 67 Washington St., Jamestown. The event, part of the center’s local history series, is free and open to the public. Those attending may take part in a discussion led by constitutional-lawyer Dr. Randy Elf for the 70th anniversary of the landmark U.S. Supreme Court opinion that was heavily influenced by Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson.

Westfield Sets Meeting

Water Project

The Westfield Village Board of Trustees has scheduled a non hearing public meeting for Wednesday, May 8, at 3:30 p.m. in the North Room of Eason Hall. The purpose of the brief meeting is to conduct a State Environmental Quality Review which is a requirement for a proposed water project and potential Environmental Facilities Corporation listing.

Guest Speaker Series Continues Wednesday

BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Point Historical Society Guest Speaker Series continues on Wednesday as Karen Livsey and Sam Genco are welcomed to speak on the history of the prohibition era and the impact it had on this area. The event is free and open to the public beginning at 7 p.m. in the Bemus Point village hall on Alburtus Avenue . The adjacent Bemus Point Historical Society Museum will be open beginning at 6 that evening for touring one hour prior to the lecture. Pride Planning

Committee To Meet Thursday

The Jamestown Pride planning committee will host its second community meeting on Thursday, May 9, to plan Jamestown Pride 2024. The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Mental Health Association, Door 14, in the rear of the Gateway Building, 31 Water Street Suite 7. The meeting will include volunteer training, community discussion, as well as unveiling the Jamestown Pride entertainment and event calendar. Refreshments will be served.
