FLUVANNA – The Fluvanna Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the cemetery building. All lot owners are welcome to attend.

JCC To

Host Visual, Performing Arts Events May 9

Jamestown Community College will host an evening of visual and performing arts events on May 9 in the Sheldon Center on the Jamestown campus. Beginning at 5 p.m. JCC acting students will present monologues from “A Bright Room Called Day” by Tony Kushner in the Weeks Gallery. This is also the last day the Juried Student Art Exhibition is on display in the gallery and available for viewing. At 7 p.m. in the adjacent Scharmann Theatre, JCC’s Rock Ensembles will perform their annual Spring Jam. All events are free and open to the public. “It’s a great opportunity for the community to come to JCC and see several aspects of our arts programs at work in one evening,” said Emily Drew, artist in residence through Creatives Rebuild New York. “We have so many talented students and we’re looking forward to coming together in appreciation of all of them together.”

Discolored Water Possible In Celoron Area

Friday

A quarterly water system inspection at a warehouse on 101 Jackson St., Celoron, before 8 a.m. Friday could cause discolored water in Celoron and west toward Lakewood, Ashville and North Harmony. If discolored water should occur, it can be expected to clear in 12-24 hours, according to Jamestown Board of Public Utilities officials.

Marco Polo Club To Host Dinner Saturday

The Marco Polo Club will be holding an in-club, sit-down spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Dinners are $12 for adults and $7 for children. Take-out dinners will be available. The drive-through will not be available.

First Lutheran Church To Host Mother’s Day Concert Sunday

First Lutheran Church will have a special Mother’s Day concert Sunday, May 12, at 4 p.m. in the church nave. The Concert is entitled “First’s Favorites Celebrated” celebrating Mother’s Day and Church Music Sunday. The First Lutheran Choir and the Good News Bell Ringers Ensemble will perform as well as several vocal and instrumental soloists including piano, organ and trumpet. An offering will be taken. A reception will follow in the church parlors. The public is welcome to attend.

Audubon Cancels Plant Sale

The Audubon Community Nature Center has canceled its plant sale. The sale was to be held later in May.
