Cooperative Extension Board To Meet Friday
The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County Board of Directors constitutional review workshop will be held today from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at JCC’s Carnahan Center, 241 James Ave., Jamestown. The public is invited to attend.
State Park
Cleanup Events Are Saturday
Three I Love My Park cleanups are scheduled for Saturday. Volunteers are invited to meet at the main pavilion in the bathhouse parking lot at 9 a.m. The cleanup is from 9 a.m. to noon and will include beach shoreline cleanup, playground painting, toll booth cleaning, flower box painting and stick collection. A cleanup will also be held in the Boutwell Hill State Forest from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with volunteers asked to meet at the parking lot at Ruttenbur and Lewis roads. The group will clean up the trails from winter and plant trees. A third cleanup will take place at the Zoar Valley Multiple Use Area and Unique Area from 10 a.m. to noon. Those interested should meet at the Holcomb Pond parking area. If that is full park at the Ross parking area and an organizer will shuttle volunteers to the site. The group will clean up trash at the Holcomb Pond parking area and the trail.
CLA To Begin Debris Clean-Up Monday
LAKEWOOD – The Chautauqua Lake Association’s spring log and debris clean-up on Chautauqua Lake is scheduled to begin Monday. The pre-season service is provided annually to protect boaters of all types from dangerous floating debris that occur from early season storm flooding. Debris is collected from navigational lanes and developed areas around the lake. Logs are not removed from undeveloped shorelines in an effort to preserve and protect natural fish habitat within the Chautauqua Lake ecosystem.
County Land Bank Board To Meet Wednesday
MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Land Bank Corporation will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Gerace Office Building in Mayville. The public is welcome to attend. The meeting will be held in Room 331 on the third floor of the Gerace Office Building. The Acquisition/Disposition Committee will meet at 8:45 a.m. prior to the board meeting. Monthly land bank meetings are conducted to discuss business associated with the land bank’s programs, acquisition and potential sale of property by the land bank and other official business as required.
