JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT — Angel M. Melendez, 33, of Jamestown, was charged with resisting arrest and no/inadequate lights — bicycle. Officers observed Melendez riding a bicycle in the road without proper lights. It was learned that Melendez had an active bench warrant out of the city of Jamestown. Melendez attempted to run from officers while being taken into custody. Melendez was eventually transported to Jamestown City Jail. — Teage A. CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE — DAYTON — Peter E. Huber, 52, of Gowanda, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, driving while intoxicated second offense, and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operator. Deputies stopped Huber Jan. 19 on Route 62 in the town of Dayton for a revoked license and an investigation revealed signs of intoxication to the driver. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT — Vincent A. Jones, 58, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police stopped a vehicle at 1:58 a.m. Tuesday in the area of Barrett Avenue for traffic infractions. An investigation found that Jones was allegedly in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine and cocaine in addition to a digital scale. Jamestown Police report they were called to UPMC Chautauqua around 11:15 p.m. Thursday for the assault. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT — Derek T. Roberts, 45, no address listed, was charged with driving while intoxicated and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. A vehicle was stopped at 2:17 a.m. Wednesday in the area of East Second and Phillips streets for observed traffic infractions. An investigation found that Roberts was allegedly operating the vehicle while in an intoxicated state and on a suspended license due to a previous DWI.
