JAMESTOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT — A Fulton Street fire injured at least one resident in the city on Sunday morning. Jamestown Fire Department reports they were called to the blaze after 7:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they found heavy fire in the rear of the structure at 234 Fulton St. on the first and second floors of a 2 1/2-story residential home. Four charged in grand-larceny theft in city — Four individuals are facing charges after an incident on the Norfolk Southern tracks near Lucas Avenue in Dunkirk. City police responded to a reported larceny in progress around 10 a.m. Thursday. Detectives observed four subjects enter railroad property and steal a large spool of wire valued at more than $1,000. Patrol stopped the subjects’ vehicle a short distance later and identified the subjects as Samantha Rushforth, 27, Aron Sikes, 30, Juan Ortiz, 40, and Dakota Murphy, 26. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Michael A. Green, 33, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree obstruction of governmental administration following an incident Wednesday evening. At 6:22 p.m. officers report seeing Green standing on a sidewalk near a city residence. Officers had prior knowledge Green had an active and outstanding felony warrant for his arrest from Jamestown. DUNKIRK POLICE — No injuries were reported in a morning accident at Deer and Sixth streets in the city of Dunkirk involving a school bus and a van. City police report the incident occurred at 8:10 a.m. Wednesday. After an investigation it was found the driver of the van failed to stop for the sign at the intersection and struck the rear of the school bus. Occupants of both vehicles were evaluated by Dunkirk Fire Department. Dorse-Carter, 24, a resident of the Chautauqua County Jail was charged Monday with first-degree promoting prison contraband and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Deputies allege that they seized a quantity of methamphetamine after they searched the cell housing her. She will answer to the charges in the Chautauqua Town Court at a later date. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Michael E. Kranking, 40, of Jamestown was charged with endangering the welfare of a child at 2:30 a.m. May 8. At 11 a.m. Friday, officers were called to a Jamestown home for a report of a physical incident involving a 2-year-old child.
