JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Tysean L. Mays, 19, of Jamestown, was charged with resisting arrest after a Sunday incident.

At 1:05 a.m., officers responded to a south side address for a reported fight. Officers arrived on scene, and made contact with the alleged suspect Mays. During the course of the investigation, Mays then attempted to flee on foot, leading officers on a brief foot pursuit.

Officers were able to catch Mays in a very short distance, and Mays was subsequently taken into custody without further incident. Mays was transported to Jamestown City Jail, where he was charged and released to be in City Court later.

— Shane M. Hefley, 23, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree criminal contempt.

On Friday evening, officers were assisting Chautauqua County Probation Officers during a joint GIVE detail. During a home visit of a probationer, officers discovered that Hefley was violating an order of protection to stay away from the victim who was present.

Hefley was taken into custody and held pending arraignment.

— Jonah K. Warner, 32, was charged with fourth-degree and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

At around 5:34 p.m. Friday, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Clinton and West Sixth streets for observed traffic infractions. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle due to observing drug paraphernalia in plain view.

During the search officers located corners of plastic bags containing a white powdered substance inside. Furthermore, it was found that Warner was in possession of a quantity of crack-cocaine and fentanyl. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

— GERRY — A structure fire on Saturday afternoon is being blamed on an electrical wiring issue.

Around 3:27 p.m., multiple fire departments were dispatched to 2016 Old Chautauqua Road. After 5 p.m., the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team responded for a cause and origin fire investigation and issued its findings later in the evening.

— STOCKTON — At around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address in the town. Further investigation found that Shawna L. Mccallum, 39, of Westfield was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. She was charged with DWI, DWI per se, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Mccallum will answer charges later.
