ELLICOTT POLICE - Dustin A. McChesney, 27, of Jamestown, was charged with speed in zone, consuming cannabis in a motor vehicle, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Oct. 19. Ellicott police responded to a speeding vehicle on Allen Street Extension and allege McChesney was speeding while having burning cannabis in his vehicle. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — SHERIDAN — At about 3 p.m. Saturday, multiple fire departments responded to 10539 Newell Road for a reported structure fire. At about 3:30 p.m., the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to assist with a cause and origin fire investigation.It was found the fire was accidental in nature, caused by a riding lawnmower in a carport that was attached to the garage and house. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — MAYVILLE — Four Westfield residents are facing charges after a traffic stop Thursday morning. At about 9:40 a.m., Andrew Harris, 26, was operating a vehicle on Academy Street and was known to have a state license with 25 suspensions and revocations. He was stopped by deputies and a search of his vehicle was conducted which produced a felony amount of methamphetamine. JAMESTOWN POLICE - Cody E. Reichenbach, 30, homeless, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and possession of burglar’s tools at 8:50 a.m. Sunday after officers on patrol near West Fourth Street and Mechanics Alley saw an individual carrying a large section of copper pipe and tools to cut pipe. Officers found Reichenbach had allegedly taken the copper off of a downtown business. Blaze damages home in Dunkirk Exposed electrical wiring is being blamed for a house fire on Friday in the city of Dunkirk, according to the investigation team at the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department. The incident occurred at 153 King St. at 4:09 p.m. Friday. Upon arrival, Dunkirk firefighters discovered a fire on the first floor of a two story home. All occupants had fled the house prior to the arrival of the department. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE – MAYVILLE – Victor M. Martinez, 26, of Dunkirk was charged Friday with third-degree criminal mischief. Martinez, who is incarcerated at the county jail, allegedly destroyed a jail-issued electronic tablet. He will answer to the charge in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date. – RIPLEY – Patrick J Bowman, 34, of Ripley was charged Monday with third-degree criminal trespass. It is alleged that he illegally entered the Ripley Town Hall. He was issued an appearance ticket for Ripley Town Court.
