Week 1 of the Northwest Arena Winter Backyard Curling Leagues sponsored by Dot’s Gift Boutique got rolling as new teams collided with returners.
5:45 JEREMY’S BEL-VIEW MONDAY LEAGUE
Scuba Crew showed their dominance early with two nail-biter wins. Brian Ceci, Tony Stellato and Jack Twinam all contributed to a 48-47 win over TRCurlers and a 58-54 win over Dinner Bell.
Joe and Theresa Jackson made it known that Shoeless Joe’s is back to defend the title, taking down Pepsi 41-33 and Fruit of the Brooms 39-26.
Guys & Curls made an early statement behind Greg Anderson and Janice Brown, squeaking by War Vets 38-34 and Head for the Mountains 24-20.
Beth Jermain and TRCurlers owned the Kidney Stones 36-26.
Frank Fuller was on fire in a shootout win for Fruit of the Brooms against Dinner Bell 55-46.
Jamie Billquist was in the zone for Pepsi in a 43-33 win over Legion of Broom.
Legion of Broom and Adam Irgang got back in the win column after a 38-31 toppling of Head for the Mountains.
Jim Fincher and the Kidney Stones are looking nice after picking up a 41-29 victory over Button Blockers.
Bill Breen put the finishing touch on the Button Blockers for the War Vets in a 31-24 victory.

BEL-VIEW LEAGUE
Andy Mattison and Dan Challingsworth have Rand Machine operating with precision with a 35-27 win over Curl Jam and a 35-29 victory over Sour Pickles.
Anna Dibble and Snow Good at This are here for a revenge tour, conquering Stark Company 35-34 and shutting down Lakeshore Paving 28-16.
Jan Bowman was electrifying for Tree Huggers. She nailed three bulls-eyes in a thrilling 37-36 victory against Curl Jam and chipped in to a 28-16 win over Lakeshore Paving.
Steve Hammond brought the heat for Sip & Sliders to cool off Rock Blockers 43-31.
Nancy White was racking up the points for Pickle Pushers in a 50-35 trouncing of Rock Blockers.
Katie Stronz curled strong for Sour Pickles to vanquish Sip & Sliders 36-34.
Hilary Elleman was too fly for Lakeshore East as Sly and the Family Stone won 41-29.
Zack Liden rebounded for Lakeshore East in a 28-23 slugfest victory against Pickle Pushers.

WEDNESDAY LEAGUE
Chris Secky and Kyle Rahr helped break 100 points in two games for Gren’s Growlers. They cruised by Curling Me Softly 59-38 and Stone Cold Maidens 42-28.
Blaire Borst and Kalynn Swanson were a force to be reckoned with for Curl Jam. They defeated Rolling Stones 54-41 and edged Bad to the Stones 40-37.
John Schwanke and Geriatric Curling Machine are going to be a problem for opponents with their effective rotation. They pulled through in two nail-biters, 45-42 over Drunken Sliders, and 42-40 versus Had a Few.
Mark Hinderleider continues to amaze for Hindy’s Hurlers as they got the job done in a 45-41 win against Bad to the Stones.
Ned Baudo is back in action for Drunken Sliders. He slid his team past Hindy’s Hurlers 36-35.
Had a Few kept the points off the board for We Love Beer. Brenda Munella contributed to this 35-25 barn-burner victory.
Curling Me Softly picked up their first backyard curling win. Kate Benish got in a groove in a 35-23 takedown of We Love Beer.
Rolling Stones outscored Girls with Stones 8-1 in the last end to come up with a 29-25 win. Mark Baglia was the star of the evening for the Rolling Stones.
Stone Cold Maidens capped off the winning teams in the opening week. Sherry Schutter guided them to a 32-27 win against Girls with Stones.

WEDNESDAY LEAGUE
12 oz. Curlers got off to a hot 2-0 start with conquests of Smokin’ Rocks 50-33 and Perfect Stones 49-37. Justin Swanson piloted his team with curling excellence.
Adam Paterniti read the ice well for Got Stones in their close call with Curls Gone Wild 38-34 and a 41-29 ambush of Rolling Stones.
Rachael Rollman grinded out two slug-fest wins for Ice & Easy, 18-11 over Slone Melhuish and a 20-14 outcome with In the House.
Smokin Rocks and Scott Mekus breezed by Slone Melhuish 42-20.
Russ Bonfiglio made sure the Perfect Stones were victorious in a 33-32 classic with the league-renowned Brush Offs.
Steve Shelters turned the ship around for Brush Offs to walk out on top of Curls Gone Wild 37-27.
Chip Perkins brought his A-game for Curling Q’s to topple the Ice Men 34-28.
Rolling Stones looked fashionable thanks to Jamie Allenson, knocking off Curling Q’s in the first slate 35-30.
Adam Panebianco looked sharp as ever to navigate In the House to a 38-26 win versus Ice Men.

WEDNESDAY LEAGUE
It’s a good week for your team name to be 12 oz. Curlers. Eric Scolton led his squad to a victimization of Haggy’s Jr. Curling Crew 35-12 and a 43-40 narrow escaping of Cold as Ice.
Daniele Anderson and Jim DiFonzo were clicking on all cylinders for Barney’s Hoof Trimming. They annihilated Home Despots 45-19 and vanquished Six Stones and a Stick 30-26.
Dot’s Men saw Steve Chambers rise to the occasion for a great opening week. The Dot’s Men nearly doubled up DH}SW 51-26 followed by the shutting down of Haggy’s Jr. Curling Crew 24-20.
Michelle Ricker and Cold as Ice were able to cool off Six Stones and a Stick 44-36.
Sub Zero and Dave Currie made sure the Stone Cold Sippers couldn’t handle the freezing temperatures with a 40-36 victory.
Bridget Lyon made it look easy for Ice Holers in a 38-24 beatdown of Draw a Blank.
Sharon Burak showed up in the second slate for Draw a Blank to pull off a 38-34 OT thriller with Sub Zero.
Jim Bergman lit up the scoreboard for DH{SW to outlast Stone Cold Sippers 42-31.
Todd Singleton helped the Home Despots rebound for a 44-34 victory over Ice Holers.
4:30 RYAN DEPPAS/LEGEND GROUP FRIDAY LEAGUE
Tracey’s Dog started the season out on the right slider, by knocking off Sweeping Beauties 49-45 and On the Rocks 47-33 with Bob Paterniti leading the way.
Bemus Bay Boulders slid their way to two wins with Peter Sullivan being the leading curler as they defeated the Bemus Sliders 38-32 and Lions & Bears 36-35.
Premier Listings edged out Bourbon 420 39-37 behind strong play from Sara Jones.
Seminar Group also topped Bourbon 420 49-39 as Wayne Rishell was the top curler.
Steve Tanner led Cold Beer Here as they beat Lions and Bears 48-35.
Haggy’s 4 Below defeated Always Late 46-40 as Craig Darling was their leading curler.
On the Rocks got their first career victory over Premier Listing behind strong play from Ben Whitney.
Jody Ludwig slid the game-winning stone in overtime to help Sweeping Beauties defeat Haggy’s 4 Below in overtime 36-35.
