Dunkirk Downs Jamestown In Division 1 Baseball

DUNKIRK — Five different players collected two hits apiece as Dunkirk downed Jamestown 11-8 in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 baseball game on Friday.

Nate Pakulski led the way with a single, a double and four RBIs, helping the Marauders improve to 7-5 overall and 4-3 in the division. Also smacking two hits were Nick Zatorski (double, two RBIs), Jack Lanski (RBI), Javy DeJesus (double) and Bryson Travis (RBI). Brady Corbett added a double and Scott Korzenski had an RBI single.

Zach Zentz earned the win, working the final three innings, striking out three, while yielding a pair of hits and two unearned runs.

Juan Matos led Jamestown (3-6, 2-5) with a three-run home run in the first inning and an RBI double in the fifth; and Nick Miraglia added two hits and drove in three runs.

BLACK KNIGHTS ROLL

SILVER CREEK — Four-run first and fourth innings sent Silver Creek/Forestville past Randolph 11-1 in five innings of Division 3 action.

Max Vigue threw a four-hitter with seven strikeouts and one walk for the Black Knights (8-3, 6-2).

Caleb Figel had two hits, including a double, while Gavin Borrello, Jonah Fox, Cade Neubauer and Brayson Parsell each added two singles for the winners.

Dillon Schrader had two singles and also struck out four in a complete game for the Cardinals (1-8, 0-8).

RED DRAGONS BLANK COUGARS

BEMUS POINT — Maple Grove led 5-0 early and tacked on single runs late to beat Cassadaga Valley 8-0 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 baseball Friday.

Kolden McCall threw a complete-game two-hitter with 13 strikeouts and four walks for the Red Dragons (7-0, 7-0).

Tucker Fenton went 3 for 4 with a solo home run in the seventh inning; Kynan Egan was 3 for 4 with a double; Jake Vaillancourt had three singles; and Colin McPherson doubled for Maple Grove.

Kyle Ingersoll doubled twice while Owen Meyers and Calvin Hilliker combined for five strikeouts on the mound for the Cougars.

THURSDAY

BRINK TWO-HITS WESTFIELD

FREWSBURG — Garrett Brink threw a complete-game two-hitter with nine strikeouts as Frewsburg beat Westfield 11-0 in six innings of Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 action Thursday.

Chase Haglund had two doubles as the Bears (4-6, 4-3) picked up eight hits.

Frewsburg led 1-0 after the first inning and 5-0 after the third before adding on in the fifth and sixth.

The Wolverines fell to 1-6 overall and 1-5 in the league.
