NIAGARA FALLS — Branston Lindquist is a Falconer native, but he sure felt right at home before 2,604 fans at Sal Maglie Stadium in the Cataract City on Saturday night.
The Jamestown Tarp Skunks were the beneficiaries.
Lindquist banged out two hits, including a three-run double, and drove in six runs to propel the red-hot Tarp Skunks to a 13-5 seven-inning victory over Niagara Falls in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League contest.
The win, Jamestown’s sixth in its first seven games to begin the 2026 season, was highlighted by a seven-run first inning and a two-run home run by Grant Moore in the seventh. Tito Kiefer finished with three of the Tarp Skunks’ 11 hits, while Lindquist and Moore both had a pair.
A catcher who is in his second season with Jamestown, Lindquist, is batting .308 in five games played and has driven in seven runs, which is the seventh-most in the league. His two sacrifice flies — one which came in the second inning Saturday — rank first.
Jamestown starter Jack Castillo (1-0) worked the first two innings for the win. The Americans’ Angel Nova-Lopez (0-1) suffered the loss. Christian Mikulski had three hits to lead Niagara Falls’ offensive attack. Ryan Stalony drove in two runs.
The Tarp Skunks jumped on Nova-Lopez in their first at-bat. Leading the seven-run rally were Lindquist and Eric Weeks, who both smacked two-run singles, and Kiefer, who added a run-scoring single. Armed with a 7-0 lead, it was more than enough for Jamestown to post the victory.
The Tarp Skunks, who completed their four-game road trip with four straight wins, were off Sunday and will be off again today before they entertain Olean at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Diethrick Park.
