Town Of Carroll Goes Above And Beyond

To The Reader’s Forum: Community Helpers has been the final theme in our Kindergarten classrooms for the last few years. This year it appeared that we would not be experiencing anything that we had done before. Our community walking trip was going to have to be canceled. Just one more disappointment in this crazy time. Many years have passed since we attended a local gathering to promote a social justice cause. Except this time was different, not only because of the potential adverse impact of the Coronavirus pandemic, but because of the cause. To The Reader’s Forum: Readers of your May 12 article “Legislators Opposed to Fast Tracking Energy Projects” were undoubtedly left with the impression that the new renewable energy siting law cuts out local government input, which simply isn’t the case. The new law is designed to improve a siting process that was expensive, took years to navigate, and was costly and often frustrating to both developers and local governments. To The Reader’s Forum: Governor Cuomo says the state is broke, yet he intends to tax New Yorkers $33 Billion to address ‘global warming’. The NRG power plant in Dunkirk produced 635 MW of electricity — was set to convert to gas turbines by 2020 with the potential to nearly double that electricity output, reliably 24/7.
