To The Reader’s Forum: Those in attendance at the recent Town Hall Meeting in Gerry hosted by Senator Borrello appreciated the time he spent answering questions. Asked about the divisiveness in government, the Senator stated he works “across the aisle” to reach compromises on various issues. ‘School Of Rock’ Is An Enjoyable Performance

To The Reader’s Forum: I recently attended the Jamestown Little Theater production of School of Rock the musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and ably directed by Marie Karbacka. What a treat!! The singing was impressive with great intonation and diction, backed by a very fine orchestra conducted by Sai Ceng of Jamestown Public Schools. To The Reader’s Forum: Now Congress has no speaker. Eight radical Republicans join the Democrats and decide to hold America hostage. Interesting. I know none of us in Western New York voted for any of them. Now we can wait for the next term to get anything done. Likely there will be a government shutdown in 40 or so days. Then what? Lawsuit Opposing State Gun Laws Is Baseless

To The Reader’s Forum: I am opposed to a pending lawsuit challenging New York law having to do with certain aspects of gun ownership. As the P-J reports it, there is a federal lawsuit challenging New York’s Concealed Carry Improvement Act. The reported arguments are a twofold concern that the law’s “background requirements would impact their business and deprive lawful gun owners of their Second Amendment rights.” I believe that “impact” on business, that is, charging a fee for background checks, or as the P-J reports, “making it harder to purchase a gun”, does not ...

I live on the east side, my banking is done in falconer as well as my shopping. My first encounter with a bird scooter was on Prendergast Avenue and Third Street. Readers Forum: Safety Standards Needed For E-Bikes, E-Scooters

To The Reader’s Forum: I have paid attention lately to the huge influx of bikes, scooters, and similar methods of transportation. What amazes me is that nobody has been killed while riding one of these conveyances! Tonight at the corner of Fairmount and McDaniel, three young men, not little kids, came across McDaniel against the signal, paying no attention to the six or seven cars waiting to turn onto Fairmount.
