For Judson Rink, 7, a cancer survivor, his wish was granted in October.
With the help of the Western New York Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Green Mountain Electric Supply, Judson and his family went to Disneyworld.
Judson’s favorite ride was Splash Mountain located inside the Magic Kingdom.
“We got soaked,” Judson said of the ride.
Jessie Rink, Judson’s mother, said he was 2 when he was diagnosed with T Cell Lymphona.

“Early on in his process, through Make-A-Wish, they offered to make his wish. He was two-years-old when he was diagnosed with cancer, so at that point, his wish was to go to Disney. Unfortunately, he wasn’t really well enough to go. He finished chemo(therapy) in February 2020,” Jessie said.
Right after he finished with chemo, the pandemic hit, so the trip got delayed.
“He’s been holding on to this wish for years now,” Jessie said.
Jessie added that Judson never wavered, and Make-A-Wish offered options, but he stuck on his Disney wish. The family went on the trip from Oct. 17 to Oct.22.
“We just got back a couple weeks ago and it was amazing,” Jessie said of the experience.
GMES is a sponsor of Make-A-Wish.
“Our goal is to work together as a company to sponsor wishes for children with life threatening illnesses through the amazing programs and staff at Make-A-Wish,” gmes.com, the company website noted.
Through its community outreach, GMES helped support Judson’s wish to attend Disneyworld. GMES donated $10,000.
GMES employee Dan Underwood said, “Employees of Green Mountain have been working pretty diligently to raise funds for Make-A-Wish. This is a culmination of our efforts.”
According to Tracy Gray, a Make-A-Wish employee based in Buffalo, the foundation is grateful for the support from GMES.
“It’s amazing to watch what a wish can do for a child. And when a company sponsors that child, the impact it has in a community locally and here with us at Make-A-Wish,” Gray said.
GMES has a branch in Jamestown at 221 Washington St.
