Jamestown firefighters were on the scene Friday morning of a fire at the Upstate Shredding – Ben Weitsman of Jamestown Scrap Yard on Eighth Street.

The fire was behind the main buildings of the scrap yard with no visible flames seen. Dark smoke could be seen from West Ellicott by those driving to work Friday morning.

Jamestown police officers were also on the scene diverting traffic away from the area.
