City Police Investigating Shootings
Jamestown police are investigating a shooting that took place Wednesday night on East Eighth Street near Fulton Street and another shooting near the 7-11 store on North Main Street.
Officers responded to the area at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday for reports of a shooting that had just taken place. Once on the scene officers found an 18-year-old boy with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The youth was taken to UPMC Chautauqua.
Around 10:10 p.m. officers responded to the 7-11 store on North Main Street for another shooting, though officers found no one was injured in the second incident.
“Through investigation it was determined that both shootings were targeted attacks and that both shootings are connected,” city police said in a news release. “Both incidents are currently under investigation …”

Over the past year, problems on Fulton Street have been constantly reported to the City Council. That includes the March voting session of the council when Raven Corvus, who lives on the corner of Fulton and East Eighth Street, told the council that while Fulton Street has gotten a lot better, there is still work to be done.
“It could still use a little bit more work,” Corvus said. “There’s quite a lot of drug houses still on East Eighth. … I see on a daily basis with my nine cameras so much that goes on there.”
According to state Department of Criminal Justice Services statistics provided through the Gun Involved Violence Elimination initiative through the end of March, Wednesday’s shooting is the first in Jamestown so far this year. There were also no shootings in the city for the first three months of 2025. In 2025, there were seven shooting incidents involving injuries with 8 people hit and no one killed, according to GIVE statistics.
