The estranged husband of Corrie Anderson has been arrested in Kentucky for kidnapping, first-degree rape and unlawful imprisonment.
According to the Huffington Post, Ken Anderson, 56, was charged Nov. 8 with kidnapping, first-degree rape and unlawful imprisonment. The victim, who has not been identified, was abducted in New York and taken to Kentucky, where police discovered her after she was reported missing. The woman was held against her will in a Richmond, Ky., hotel.
According to the Richmond Register, Ken Anderson, who is from New York, is in the Madison County Detention Center after Richmond police arrested him for first-degree unlawful imprisonment at The Days Inn. Officers were dispatched to the Richmond motel to locate a missing New York woman, after receiving a tip from police that she might be in the area and in danger. The missing woman and Ken Anderson were found in a room. According to the citation, the victim said she was ”very scared” of Ken Anderson and was not allowed to leave his sight. She added that if he thought she was going to leave, he would ”tie her up.”
The victim stated she had been assaulted in the past and Ken Anderson had controlled nearly every part of her life. There was a restraining order from New York that was served immediately preventing contact between Ken Anderson and the victim, the citation noted.
Corrie Anderson, mother of three who lived in Busti, was last seen the afternoon of Oct. 28, 2008, leaving the former Lake County Dodge car dealership on Washington Street in Jamestown. Her van was found two days later on a trail off of Kortwright Road, not far from her home on Wellman Road.
According to a Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, report in The Post-Journal, Ken Anderson was questioned and his home was searched over the course of several hours the night Corrie’s van was recovered. Corrie’s family acknowledged the two were technically still married, they were however separated by an order of protection Corrie placed on Ken.
In April, new information regarding the disappearance of Corrie Anderson led to more than 50 police officers searching areas of Kortwright Road in Busti. The search resulted in no findings. The search was conducted on Tuesday, April 26, and lasted from 8 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m.
According to Captain Eric J. Balon, Troop A Zone III commander at the New York State Police barracks in Jamestown, specifics regarding the new information could not be released. State troopers were assisted by members of the Jamestown and Lakewood-Busti police departments as well as the Chautauqua County Forensic Investigation Team. Balon said Anderson’s case has remained an open investigation and that multiple tips regarding her disappearance have cropped up — and been investigated — over the past eight years.
