Hazeltine Library Author Series Continues
BUSTI – The Hazeltine Public Library’s author series continues today with T.J. Buck, author of Mud Lake, Bad Water and The Reggie Arnold Trilogy, among others. Buck will be the featured author on Monday, May 4, at the Hazeltine Public Library. “We’re pleased to welcome TJ back to the library” said Katie Smith, library director. “He’s been a part of our series for several years and always has an interesting story to share – one that is in print or maybe one that’s still in process!” The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Frewsburg School Board To Hold Special Meeetings
FREWSBURG – The Frewsburg Central School Board of Education will hold special meetings on Monday, May 4, at 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, May 6, at 6 p.m. in the middle school high school library. The purpose of these meetings are to have an Anticipated executive session to discuss matters pertaining to the search for a Superintendent of Schools. The public is welcome to attend.
Lakewood Library To Hold Sneak Peek Book Sale
LAKEWOOD – The Sneak Peek Book Sale at the Lakewood Memorial Library will be held on Wednesday, May 6, from 7 to 8 p.m. Admission is $10 and provides early access to the sale. The Book Sale at the Lakewood Memorial Library will be open to the public from May 7 through May 9 during regular library hours.
Quilts Of Valor Group To Meet
LAKEWOOD – Chautauqua Region Quilts of Valor will meet Friday, May 8, at Quilters’ Haven at 10:30 a.m. Topics to be discussed are presentations at the Fenton, in Brocton, and one in Jamestown. The group is in need of patriotic quilts for both men and women. More information about the Quilts of Valor program is available at www.qovf.org. Quilters’ Haven is located in the Jamestown Mattress Plaza at 135 E. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood. Anyone interested in this program is welcome to attend.
Christian Women’s Group To Gather
RUSSELL – The Jamestown-Warren Christian Women Village Missions Country Partners will meet Tuesday, May 12, from noon to 2 p.m. at Praise Fellowship Church, Russell. The speaker will be Beth Pearson of Gideon International with vocal music by Pamela Holmes. Lunch is $7. Reservations made to Nancy Schuyler at 716-397-3674 or 716-294-3071. No dues nor membership is required to attend. Men also are welcome. Village Missions trains pastors and sends them to rural American churches in danger of closing due to absence of a pastor.
Kiwanis Club Cancels Plant, Flower Sale
The Jamestown Kiwanis Club regrets to inform the community that due to extenuating circumstances, the annual flower sale is suspended for 2026.
