JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Debra Maldonado, 64, was charged Feb. 25 with having an active warrant, and seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance. According to police, at about 7:39 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Linden Avenue, near Forest Avenue, for an observed traffic infraction. After approaching the vehicle, police said, officers observed Maldonado, who was known to have an active arrest warrant, in the passenger seat. She was placed into custody on the warrant, and after a search of her person, officers located an alleged quantity of methamphetamine in her purse. ...

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT - Ian Tyler Ward, 33, of the town of Hanover, and Sarah Kestler, 38 of the town of Hanover were both charged Tuesday with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officials said, at about 8:52 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on Routes 5 and 20 in the town of Hanover. Ward was the operator, and Kestler was the passenger. Harley, 34, was charged Feb. 18 with fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, third-degree criminal trespass, and petit larceny. According to police, at about 8:45 p.m., officers were called to Walmart, 350 E. Fairmount Ave., for a shoplifting and trespass incident. Officials said, at about 2:23 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on West Main Street in the Village of Fredonia for an alleged traffic violation.
