JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPT.
– Eric D. Gifford, 40, of Jamestown was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs at 12:51 a.m. Friday after city police officers responded to a business in the Foote Avenue Plaza for a report of a man slumped over the wheel of a vehicle in the parking lot. Gifford had allegedly been driving while impaired by drugs. He was charged and taken to the Jamestown Police Department, where he was held until he could be arraigned.
– Michael S. Cook, 53, of Jamestown was charged with two counts of first-degree criminal contempt after police officers responded to a home on the city’s suth side at 12:50 a.m. Friday for a reported domestic dispute. Cook allegedly violated an order of protection by pushing and kicking a woman. Cook was charged and taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
– Jhon Loja-Lopez, 22, of Olean was charged with driving while intoxicated and DWI per se at 1:40 a.m. Sunday, May 17, after officers responded to the area of East Second and Weeks streets for a motor vehicle accident. Loja-Lopez allegedly hit a parked car while under the influence of alcohol. He will be in Jamestown City Court later.
– Alesha Matthews, 27, of Jamestown was charged with DWI and traffic citations at 12:14 a.m. Friday after officers pulled a vehicle over at East Third and North Main streets for an alleged traffic violation. Matthews was allegedly intoxicated. She was taken to the city jail, processed and released to be in court later.
– Molly K. Preston, 27, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated and traffic citations at 2:09 a.m. Wednesday after a traffic stop at Fluvanna and Homestead avenues for an alleged traffic violation. Preston was allegedly intoxicated. She will be in city court later.
– John A. Waite, 34, of Jamestown was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and outstanding court warrants at 7:47 p.m. Thursday after city police officers and county probation officers responded to a north side resience to check on Waite, who was wanted by the city of Jamestown for failure to appear in court. During a search, officers allegedly found suspected methamphetamine in Waite’s pocket. Waite was taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
– STOCKTON – Mitchell G. Hoinski, 40, of Sinclairville was cited for speeding and charged with DWI and DWI per se at 10:16 p.m. Thursday after deputies pulled a vehicle over for a traffic violation in Stockton. Hoinski was taken to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office for processing and released to be in Stockton Town Court later.
