JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Adrian Melo-Estrada, 24, of Jamestown was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, second-degree harassment, two counts of second-degree menacing and trespass after making threats with a butcher knife.
At about 9 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to a southside address for an in-progress domestic dispute and report of person with a weapon. Upon arrival officers were able to identify Melo-Estrada as the primary aggressor whom the victim has a valid no offensive contact order of protection against.
Upon investigation it was found that Melo-Estrada had harassed the victim during the incident. During the incident, he also threatened the victim with a large kitchen knife while charging toward her. He then exited the residence with the knife where he menaced another victim at the neighboring residence in the back yard.
Melo-Estrada was not on scene upon officer arrival, but officers were able to locate him at a northside address shortly thereafter. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail where he was being held pending arraignment.
¯ Logan M. Waterman, 41, of Jamestown, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance early Thursday.
At about 2 a.m., officers observed Waterman walking in the area of Forest Avenue. Officers had knowledge that Waterman had an active felony arrest warrant out of Jamestown City Court.
Officers contacted Waterman and placed him in custody without incident. A search of Waterman was completed incident to arrest and officers located a quantity of methamphetamine in his possession. He was transported to City Jail without incident where he was awaiting arraignment.
