JAMESTOWN POLICE

¯ Alexandria A. Earls, 30, of Mayville was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, leavin the scene of an accident, moving from lane unsafely and fourth-degree criminal mischief at 3:25 a.m. Thursday after police officers found a vehicle that hit a concrete staircase on the east side of the city. The vehicle was unoccupied when officers arrived, but noticed a woman limping up the street trying to leave the area. Officers found Earls had allegedly been driving the vehicle. She was taken to UPMC Chautauqua for treatment of her injuries before being taken to the Jamestown City Jail until she could be arraigned.

¯ Codie D. Swartz, 23, of Jamestown was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, first-degree felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia at 1:55 a.m. Thursday after officers patrolling the area of Liberty and East Eighth streets found a man slumped over the wheel of a running vehicle. Swartz’ driver’s license was revoked, according to a police report, while a search of Swartz allegedly revealed cocaine and a digital scale. Swartz was taken to the Jamestown City Jail until he could be arraigned.

¯ Andrew P. Cooper, 36, of Jamestown was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after officers saw Cooper walking downtown knowing he had an active felony arrest issued by the Jamestown Police Department. Cooper was taken to the Jamestown City Jail and, while taking inventory of his property at the jail, allegedly found tramadol hydrochloride, a controlled substance, in his backpack. Cooper was kept at the city jail until he could be arraigned.

¯ Jason L. Passinger, 48, and David T. Koch, 36, both of Jamestown, were charged with trespassing at 5:08 p.m. Wednesday after officers patrolling the Cherry Street parking ramp found Passinger and Koch in the ramp with no vehicle parked in the ramp and no other reason to be in te hramp. They were issued appearance tickets and will be in Jamestown City Court later.

¯ Devon A. Smith, 21, and Zachary J. Hamby, 18, were charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal tampering at 11:24 p.m. Monday after Jamestown police officers and firefighters responded to a building on Jamestown’s south side for an open door. After officers made announcements into the building, police report Smith and Hamby came out of the open door without incident. Inside the building, an emergency exit door handle was found to be broken off of a door while miscellaneous property was scattered throughout the building. Hamby and Smith were taken to the Jamestown City Jail until they could be arraigned.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE

¯ LAKEWOOD — Isabelle J. Shelton, 25, of Jamestown was arrested on an active warrant on West Summit Avenue. She was taken into custody on Thursday on petit larceny and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance charges. She was released and is to return to town of Busti court at a later date.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ SINCLAIRVILLE — Two Jamestown residents are facing burglary charges. The Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigation Division alleges that between the dates of Aug. 26 and Sept. 5, Dustin Newbree, 32, and Monica Pacheco, 38 had entered into a vacant residence and had stolen property. On Sept. 15 investigators located the stolen property at a residence in the city of Jamestown. The two were charged with third-degree burglary, petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

GOWANDA POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ A 15-year-old youth has been accused of using a weapon during a robbery. Police said they were called to a Buffalo Street business for a the report of an armed robbery. Officers said they arrived to find the teenager armed with a knife, demanding that the store employee empty the cash register. Police disarmed the youth and arrested him. He was arraigned and sent to the Erie County Juvenile Detention Center pending Family Court intervention.

¯ Daniel Miller Jr., 54, of Palmer Street, Gowanda was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Police allege that on Sept. 3 they received a complaint that Miller was harassing a juvenile in violation of a court-ordered Order of Protection. Officers were told that as the youth rode his bicycle, Miller attempted to stop him, followed him and was yelling numerous derogatory comments against this youth. There is a complete stay away Order of Protection, preventing any interaction with Miller toward this youth which was issued by Family Court. Miller was arrested Sept. 14 and released on an appearance ticket.
