Request for more county Safety Net funding withdrawn

MAYVILLE – A request for millions of more dollars for Chautauqua County’s Safety Net program is being put on hold. During the legislature’s Human Services Committee meeting, it was announced that a resolution requesting $2.8 million be transferred from the county’s reserves to Mental Hygiene and Social Services has been withdrawn. Deputy Director of Finance Dianna Songer said they were pulling the resolution. “The case numbers have decreased so we’re finally seeing the numbers go down,” she said. Fredonia eyes big changes to parking law

Fredonia will hold a public hearing Monday on a law that would do away with downtown parking meters, in favor of a “mobile app” payment system. The law would also establish a paid permit structure for parking in the village lots on either side of Water Street.
