Woman Charged After False Report Of Gunfire
A city woman has been charged with falsely reporting an incident.
At 7:45 p.m. Friday, officers responded to
the intersection of an eastside address for a report of a female gunshot victim,
who had been shot in the head.
Upon arrival, Officers located the caller, Lilly A. James, 58, who pointed officers to a house up the road from her location. While
speaking with James, she stated that she had received the information about the
victim from a third party. Through further investigation, it was found that she
had fabricated the entire incident.
James was placed into custody without incident for third-degree falsely reporting an incident.
She was transported to
Jamestown City Jail where she was processed and released on an appearance
ticket in accordance with NYS Bail Reform.
