Jaroszynski Seeks Family Court Judgeship

Judge Sally A. Jaroszynski is running for the Chautauqua County Family Court Judge position being vacated by Judge Jeffrey A. Piazza at the end of the year.

Jaroszynski is a registered Republican seeking the endorsement of the Conservative Party which will be holding a primary election on June 25. Jaroszynski has also been endorsed by the Chautauqua County Democratic Committee and will appear on the Working Families Party line. Judge Jaroszynski is a lifelong resident of Chautauqua County and has been practicing law in Chautauqua County Family Court for over 30 years. She has been elected as the Ellicott Town Justice and has been serving in that position for 15 years.

Jaroszynski lives in the Village of Falconer with her husband of 28 years, James Jaroszynski, a retired police officer with the Ellicott Police Department. They have two grown daughters Hannah and Kathryn. Hannah Jaroszynski is employed with Chautauqua County with a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and lives in Jamestown. Kathryn Jaroszynski has a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering and is working on her PhD at the University of Pennsylvania. She currently lives in Philadelphia.

Jaroszynski received her bachelor’s degree from St. Bonaventure University in 1989 and her Juris Doctorate from Ohio Northern University in 1992. Throughout her more than three decade career Jaroszynski has represented a diverse clientele, including mothers, fathers, grandparents, children and victims of abuse and domestic violence.

As an Ellicott Town Justice for 15 years, Jaroszynski said she has proven her ability to manage one of the busiest and most efficient courts in the county. Jaroszynski has been a family law practitioner since she was admitted to the New York State Bar in January 1993. She served as the Legal Director/Attorney for Legal Aid of Chautauqua Region from September 2002 through November 2018, and she worked for the Chautauqua County Public Defender’s Office from August 1998 through August 2002.

Jaroszynski is a current member of the Jamestown Bar Association and New York State Magistrates Association. She has served on the Chautauqua County Attorney for the Child Panel for more than 30 years representing children through the Family Court process. Judge Jaroszynski has served as the Chautauqua County member of the Pro Bono Committee for the Eighth Judicial District. As an active attorney in family court, Judge Jaroszynski received special congressional recognition from former U.S. Representative Tom Reed for her pro bono work, from New York State’s “Access to Justice” for her pro bono work and recognition for her outstanding representation of victims of domestic violence from the Salvation Army.

Jaroszynski has served as a permanency mediator for the 8th Judicial District, vice president of the Falconer Central School Board of Education, and board member of the Lucille Ball Little Theater. She serves as a board member for the Chautauqua County Child Advocacy Program.

Jaroszynski is a lifetime member of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church in Falconer, where she has been a catechism teacher and lecturer.
