Sherman Names Rotary Scholars Of The Month
Nicholas Lilley is the Rotary Scholar of the Month for September. Nick is the son of Nicole and Christopher Lilley. They are a military family with Nick’s dad serving in the Navy for 20 years. Nick has participated in the Relay for Life event to raise funds for people battling cancer. He plans to attend the University at Buffalo to study history and continue his education to become a lawyer. TreyVon Kopta is the Rotary Scholar of the Month for October. TreyVon is the son of JoAnn and Josh Kopta. He has four siblings who are an integral part of his life as he credits them for helping him become the person he is today. As a sophomore, he received the Academic Excellence Award. His junior year, he was named the JCC College Connections Student of the year for Sherman Central School. He was also awarded the Wells College, 21st Century Leadership scholarship. At school, he is a member of the football, basketball and track and field teams. He is actively involved in the FCS club and Teens on Fire. In his spare time, TreyVon likes to listen to music, ski, and hunt. TreyVon plans to attend SUNY Brockport to major in accounting and would like to be on their football team. Christopher Eades is the Rotary Scholar of the Month for November. Chris is the son of David and Cherie Eades. He has been an honor roll student every quarter since his freshman year. As a junior, Chris was awarded the University of Rochester’s Award for Innovation and Information Technology. He has enjoyed being in the Musical Club throughout his high school years and just performed in his final production. Chris enjoys working at our local pizza shop. He has always had a love for technology and computers, so after graduation he plans to attend Jamestown Community College to major in cybersecurity. He will then transfer to a 4 year college to complete his bachelor’s degree.
