Annual antique show is July 18-19 in Mayville
Antiques of various types and eras will be available for sale at the 2026 Chautauqua County Historical Society Antique Show on July 18 and 19 at the Chautauqua Suites in Mayville, N.Y.
MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Historical Society will once again hold its annual antique show in Mayville during the third weekend of July.
The 89th annual Antique Show – featuring an estimated 22 dealers from across Western New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio – will be held at Chautauqua Suites Hotel & Expo Center, 215 W. Lake Road, Mayville, with a wide variety of antiques available for sale. The dates for this year’s show are Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, July 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature antique furniture, dining sets, glassware, silver, jewelry, linens, and more. Confirmed dealers for this year can be found at CCHSMcClurg.org/AntiqueShow.
The Antique Show has its origin dating back to 1938, when Doc and Edis Shelkey organized the first ever event in Westfield. The two were well-known local antique dealers during that era and the event was so well attended they decided to hold it annually. Since then, the show has become a tradition in Chautauqua County, and for the past several decades has been organized by Chautauqua County Historical Society. In 2024, the show was relocated to Mayville and rebranded as the Chautauqua County Historical Society Antique Show, but its purpose and goal remain the same: to raise money for the historical society and the McClurg Museum.
“The antique show has become an annual event that both residents and visitors look forward to each summer,” said Jason Sample, Chautauqua County Historical Society president and chair of the show. “With more than 20 dealers and thousands of high-quality items available for sale, there’s sure to be something for everyone and any budget.”
Admission is $10 for both days for individuals, or $15 for couples.
“Next to our annual summer gala event, the antique show has become our second-largest fundraising event of the year. It is especially important this year to have a strong turnout due to a capital project that involves renovating a portion of the McClurg Museum, so we encourage as many attendees as possible to come to the show and not only support our dealers, but also our organization and the renovation effort at the McClurg,” Sample said.
The 2026 Antique Show is sponsored by Chautauqua County’s 3% Occupancy Tax Tourism Product Development Grant.
