Safety Village Christmas Event

ASHVILLE — The Chautauqua Safety Village is hosting a night of “Whoville Holiday Fun” from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, at the safety village, 2695 Route 394, Ashville. The event will include pictures with Santa, Christmas cookie decorating with Mrs. Claus, the North Pole Observation Station, the Grinch and the Dare to Visit his Lair, a stationary Christmas parade and scavenger hunt. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. Admission is $5 per person and all activities are included; children 2 and under are free.

Rod And Gun Auxiliary To Install Officers

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Area Rod and Gun Auxiliary Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The auxiliary will hold its annual Christmas dinner and installation of officers Monday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m. Attendees must have a paid dinner reservation to attend. The entertainment will feature the Kokomo TIme Band. The group will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots Program. Greeters for the evening will be Kathy Johnston and Jan Buttafarro. Helpers are Jan DeVoe and Sally Hagg. The officers being installed for 2022 include president, Sharon Purdy; vice president, Nancy Rasmussen; secretary, Jan DeVoe; and treasurer, Connie Whitman. There will be no auxiliary meetings in January or February. Beginning in March, meetings will be held on Tuesdays, with the exceptions of a PotLuck Harvest Dinner and Christmas Party, which will be held on Mondays.

Barone Holiday Event Saturday At YWCA

LAKEWOOD — On Saturday, Dec. 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. the first George L. Barone Jr. holiday event will take place at the Lakewood YWCA Lake Lodge at 185 E. Terrace Ave., Lakewood. The free event will include local vendors, holiday fun crafts for kids, hot cocoa, cookies and a basket raffle of local businesses. There will also be an appearance from Santa Claus himself. The public is welcome to attend.

Christian Women Luncheon Nears

RUSSELL, Pa. — The Dec. 14 gathering of the Jamestown-Warren Christian Women will be held at Praise Fellowship Church, Russell, Pa., beginning at 11 a.m. to browse and participate in a Christmas bazaar. Any guest may sell handmade items and crafts with 25% donation going to Village Missions. Lunch will be provided for $5. Music will be by Richard Geer of Warren, and the guest speaker will be Stacey Rasmussen, director of the Chautauqua County Compeer program. Marco Polo Club Spaghetti Dinner Saturday

The Marco Polo Club will be holding an in-club, sit-down, spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. If COVID vaccinated, diners need not wear masks. If unvaccinated, diners are requested to wear masks whenever they are not actively eating or drinking. Dinners are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Take-out dinners will be available. Drive-through is not available. Please note, the cost of adult dinners will go up to $11 beginning in January. The cost of a child dinner will remain at $5 for the time being.
