Prendergast Library Board To Meet Thursday
The James Prendergast Library Board of Trustees will meet at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at the library. Board meetings are open to the public.
Safety Village To Host Car Seat Safety Check Thursday
ASHVILLE – The Chautauqua Safety Village and Ardent Solutions are hosting a free car seat check Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ashville Fire Department, 5338 Stow Road, Ashville. “Parents and caregivers can come any time between 10am and 1pm to have their car seats and seat installation checked by certified technicians”, states Jessica Dayton, Chautauqua Safety Village executive director. “Even if you think your child’s car seat is installed correctly, come down and have it checked so you can be sure that your child is the safest they can be while traveling.
Technicians are certified through Safe Kids Worldwide. Funding is provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration with a grant from New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee. For more information call the Chautauqua Safety Village at 716-338-0170.
Mayville Senior Citizens To Meet May 16
MAYVILLE – The Mayville Senior Citizens will meet May 16 to hear a presentation by Pete Skillman, a retired EMT and firefighter who has written a book about his experiences. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass.
County Board Of Health To Meet May 16
MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Board of Health will hold its quarterly meeting on Thursday, May 16, at 6 p.m. in the Hall R. Clothier Building, Fourth Floor Conference Room, 7 N. Erie St., Mayville. Comments received from the public will be accepted as communications, and not read during privilege of the floor. Public comments at the meetings during the privilege of the floor must be made in person. Members of the public may view the meeting live via the Chautauqua County Health Department’s YouTube channel. The Resource Center To Host Blood Drive

CELORON – The American Red Cross will host a blood drive from 10:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 17 at The Resource Center, 200 Dunham Ave. Celoron. All blood types are needed 1o ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 16 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
