Townline Road Work To

Begin Today

Construction crews will begin working on Fluvanna-Townline Road, County Road 609, Touring Route 59, between Moon Road and West Oak Hill Road at 6 a.m. today with the work expected to finish Friday. The road will be closed. A detour will be posted. Drivers should plan on taking an alternate route.

Cassadaga Legion Post 1280 Auxiliary To Host Sale Saturday

CASSADAGA – The annual rummage and bake sale at the Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280, 228 Maple Ave., Cassadaga, will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Items to be donated will be accepted (no encyclopedias, electronic, computers or exercise equipment) at the post through Friday.

Red Cross To Hold Blood Drive In Westfield

WESTFIELD – The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 18 at Eason Hall, 23 Elm St., Westfield. To make an appointment or for more information, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App. visit RedCrossBlood.org. call 1-800-733-2767 or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed 1o ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 16 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

Association Plow Day Is May 18

STOCKTON – The Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association will hold its annual plow day on Saturday, May 18, beginning about 9 a.m. on Bowen Road, just past Dean Road, in Stockton. Antique tractors and plows will be demonstrating plowing in the surrounding fields. The event will continue throughout the morning and afternoon, until the area is plowed. Last year’s event included 5 two-cylinder antique tractors utilizing plows with 2 to 6 bottoms (blades) that endured the rain. Members of the CCAEA are invited to participate in plowing and members of the community are welcome to view the event.

Skating Club To Present Show Saturday

The Jamestown Skating Club will present its annual spring skating show, “From The Toy Box” on Saturday with showtimes at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Northwest Arena in Jamestown. The show will feature songs from the movies Toy Story, Trolls, Barbie, and UglyDolls with solos, duets and group numbers performed by a variety of skaters from beginners to United States Figure Skating gold medalists as well as former Disney on Ice stars. General admission is $10 at the door.
