Masks Required For Workers Memorial Event

The Chautauqua County Workers Memorial Committee will be holding its 20th Annual Workers Memorial Day on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. at the Chautauqua County Workers Memorial site at Erlandson Overview Park on Oak Hill Road in Frewsburg. Masks must be worn.

Child Seat Checks To Be Held At Safety Village

ASHVILLE — There will be two free safety car seat checks at the Chautauqua Safety Village. The first car seat safety check will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon and the second one will take place Thursday, Sept. 30 from 5-7 p.m. The Safety Village is located at 2695 Route 394. There will be certified child passenger safety technicians will be on site to help ensure your child is safe and using the right seat the right way.

Boutwell Hill Event Saturday

Interested in Cross Country skiing? Saturday come to the Big Inlet Brewery 6169 Elm Flat Road, Mayville where the Boutwell Hill Cross Country Ski Club is having a fundraiser. Enjoy live music from 2-5 p.m. and find out about skiing the trails. This non-profit volunteer organization maintains specifically for cross country skiers on the Boutwell Hill state land in northeastern Chautauqua County and how you can support their efforts. Ripley Library Hosting Grand Reopening

RIPLEY — The Ripley Public Library will host its grand reopening on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. This is a time for everyone to see the newly renovated main area. There will be live music and refreshments.

NRA Awards $432 To Westfield

WESTFIELD — The NRA Foundation has awarded the Westfield Police Department a grant totaling $432 to fund supplies for firearms training. The Village of Westfield and the Police Department are very grateful for this financial support and pleased that the NRA is making an investment in our community.” The Westfield Police Department conducts multiple department training programs to support the officers and the community it serves. The members of the Westfield Police Department, in partnership with our community, are dedicated to improving the quality of life by protecting lives and property, enforcing the laws of the State of New York and the United States Constitution, securing offenders, and responding to the needs of the people.

Dahlgren Family To Reunite

The COVID-delayed second reunion of the descendants of John August Dahlgren was held on National Grandparents Day at the Allen Park Men’s Club. About 25 family members enjoyed beef on weck. The 65th wedding anniversary of Walt and Joyce Dahlgren was recognized. Attendees traveled from Pennsylvania, South Dakota and Arizona.
