Christmas In July Set In Falconer

FALCONER — Santa’s making a summer vacation pitstop in Falconer on Saturday, July 24, to participate in the village’s Christmas in July parade. The parade will begin in the Falconer High School parking lot at noon, then head west down Main Street, ending at the Santa House in Coleson Park. Santa will be greeting children immediately following the parade. In addition to the parade, the community is reminded to stop by the annual fire auxiliary craft show being held at the Falconer fire hall from 9 a.m. 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Busti Gazebo Concert Set

BUSTI — Pat Cook with her version of Patsy Cline and other famous female country artists will perform at the Busti Gazebo Saturday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cook is from the Mayville area. She started singing and playing guitar during high school, mostly for Folk Mass at her church in Mayville and has been the female vocalist for the band “Free Country.” She has performed her tribute to Patsy Cline in such places as Chautauqua Institution, the Summer Wind dinner cruises, nursing homes and for senior organizations. Attendees should bring lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of great country music. The event is sponsored by the Busti Hamlet Development Association.

Pianist, Cellist To Perform Friday

LILY DALE — Pianist Eliran Avni and cellist Natasha Farny will perform Friday at the Lily Dale auditorium. From sonatas to nocturnes the Ekstasis Duo will celebrate classical music. The duo formed during their study at Julliard in New York City where they performed frequently before relocating to teach music at SUNY Fredonia. Their musical mission is to celebrate classical masterpieces, while including several superb pieces from lesser known composers. The Ekstasis duo combines solos, reading, and visual arts to create a story and a joyful atmosphere. Their audiences often report they are “profoundly moved.” The concert starts at 8 p.m. and admission is $10.

County Parks Panel To Meet

The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will hold its monthly meeting at Luensman Overlook Park, 7970 Thayer Road, Portland, on Thursday at 4 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

Street Cleaning Set For July 29

RUSSELL, Pa. — Street cleaning in the village of Russell will take place on Thursday or in the case of rain, Thursday, July 29. Included streets are Conewango, Liberty, Main, and East. The cleaning is sponsored by the ROAR Committee of Pine Grove Township.

County IDA To Meet Tuesday

Members of the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency Board of Directors will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at BWB Building, 201 W. Third St., Jamestown. The Chautauqua Region Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors immediately following the county IDA meeting.

Ball Park Site Of Concert

SILVER CREEK — The village of Silver Creek will have music in the Ball Park on Tuesday, July 27, from 6-9 p.m. The band is Zen City.

There will be some food trucks on site, coolers are welcome and bring own chairs.
