‘Saddened’ Over Verdict Opinion

To the Readers’ Forum: As someone who has twice had the privilege of serving on a jury, I was saddened to read U.S. Rep. Nick Langworthy’s recent press release on the verdict in the Trump trial (https://langworthy.house.gov/media/press-releases/langworthy-statement-verdict-trump-trial ). New York Gun Laws Are Indeed Effective

To The Reader’s Forum: I don’t expect much from the editors of The Post-Journal but their opinion piece of April 20, 2024, suggesting that New York’s strict gun laws are not keeping firearms out of the wrong hands was a testament to their lack of basic journalism skills. Anyone in a position of responsibility who deems to state a public opinion on a subject serious gun crime has the obligation to do, at the very least, some basic research. To the Readers Forum: 9-11 has been over 20 years ago, but most of us remember how evil it was. Two planes crashed into the twin towers, one into the Pentagon, and one into a field in Pennsylvania. International Airport Designation Could Help Airport

To the Readers’ Forum: I have recently read the excellent commentary by the editor about a possible international designation at the airport in Jamestown. Bravo for putting the issue in the spotlight. Every time I have traveled from New York City (where I am a resident) to Jamestown (my hometown), I have lamented the fact that I could not fly into Jamestown. To The Reader’s Forum: Thank you to the adults involved in planning and chaperoning the capstone trip for students in the Holocaust and Social Justice Program of Chautauqua County.
